I was thinking of it as a way for people on librarything who already like its groups feature to talk about how they're doing with their challenges and share recommendations. LibraryThing has a nice feature that allows you to link directly to the LibraryThing page for a book or author within your message.

Personally, I think it would be fun to have a thread I could link to in my profile that collects information about books I have read and am planning to read for [livejournal.com profile] 50books_poc. That is the sort of information I like to share in my librarything profile--I have one for the 999 Challenge--but I can't link to a post in my own livejournal the same way, since it's friendslocked, and linking to [livejournal.com profile] 50books_poc would not have the same effect since it's everybody's posts, not just my own. But, I'm not sure if there are many people here who would want to use a librarything group in that way--finding out about that is sort of what this post is for.
