This review reminds me how much I loved reading this book the first time (...and then all the other times, too). It contains so many elements of my experiences, and those of my family/community/friends/etc. that I was left gobsmacked at how it brought home that almost *none* of that appears in mainstream media. I mean, you're aware of that intellectually, but without anything to compare it to the edge wears off the knowledge.
