I was planning on re-reading Jacobs' Incidents for this challenge. I've been dragging my feet, though, so it's motivating to see your enthusiasm for it.

The excerpt from Nightjohn got a thumb's-up from you, eh? Yesterday, in the context of this group, a friend and I were discussing her boys' love for Gary Paulsen. Neither of us knew how solid his portrayals of POC tend to be, and whether she should be steering her kids elsewhere. One of the Oyate.org reviewers had scathing criticism for The Night the White Deer Died (which is not encouraging), but we haven't yet turned up anything about his other books, especially the high-acclaim ones like Nightjohn.
