I did read it as sure for them. Kaede seems pretty adaptable, but Taisin only wants to be a sage. I didn't get the sense that she could change the culture of sages in time for her, but that she could start the change that would change it for other women.

My favorite kind of lesbian literature is the kind that's an interesting story about characters who happen to be lesbians. I love that that's what Lo is writing.
