But aha! Last bullet point under How to Nominate says that they can shift things between categories if it falls within 20% of the cut-off. And under Length of Work on the rules it says that the staff will move things into the right category, as needed.

So an 88-minute film would be viewed as long-form, it looks like. Probably. But they're not gonna disqualify the nomination in any case, just move it to the right category.
