I'd be interested in joining a sister community. One film a month would be about my speed. They'll have to be limited to ones I can get from Netflix or the library, but there's always interlibrary loan.

I really enjoyed The Watermelon Woman, written and directed by Cheryl Dunye, who is African-American. I posted about it on my journal (http://waelisc.livejournal.com/1568.html#cutid1) a while back. (The other two films in that post are not by PoC, afaik.)
