Maybe this is a bad time to be asking me, because in the four, five years since I first found the Boondocks via this compilation, I've been consuming a lot less media. Also, I'm South African, so I think you might be looking for a more local perspective, heh.
Anyway, lately I'm finding a lot more books that appeal to my experience, and the bit of local TV I watch is doing better about being relatable instead of trying real hard to be educational and politically correct. Hollywood and I are still not on speaking terms, though. And it's rare to find something as unapologetic as The Boondocks.
