Ah! I've been pondering the two editions of Battle Royale for a while now. Perhaps you can answer this: how much has the text been revised? I have the original translation, and I'm kind of tempted to shell out for the Haikasoru edition (the interview with Takami is great), but I have a niggling fear that I'd be wasting my money.
Have you seen the movie? I have, and I loved it (much to my surprise; I don't normally go for gory stuff). In many ways I think it's better than the novel, though of course the novel has way more depth of backstory and setting.
