rydra_wong loved her work, too, so Evaristo has gotten a bunch of really good reviews here. (If you click the Evaristo tag and scroll back a bit, you'll find them.) It's just been Blonde Roots that seemed to have had a bad run of reviews. And that may just be a certain disconnection with the kind of thing that Evaristo is doing: I had the impression, from rydra's review of Soul Tourists, that it'd be pretty likely that I might just not get that one, not knowing much about Pushkin, Rastafarianism, nor hip-hop.
