Furthermore, even if a person does want to skip your post, it's not "rude" to say so. People rarely read every single post on every community they belong to, since not every post is going to be dealing with subject matter that's of interest to them.

It's standard etiquette to cut very long posts, leaving a few paragraphs outside the cut to let people see whether the post is of interest to them or not. Your reaction to the request for a cut is baffling.
