Could be--or could be that, like Dumas, he has African heritage and I just don't know about it! I've never heard of him before. I am familiar with Unamuno and am pretty sure he IDed as white, but I'm open to correction on that point too. I certainly don't feel qualified to be making determinations--particularly regarding whether some of the Central European authors I flagged below "count."
