It was quite a mission getting hold of this! Mostly because I'm not willing to pay standard-NZ-comic-price. But it arrived in the mail yesterday, and all is well... It is also literally shiny!
This is the penultimate volume in the Scott Pilgrim series, and I think it shows. It doesn't stand on its own as well as the other books, being as it's mostly lead up for the big showdown with Gideon. I think it will probably work well in the context of the series... but considering how far away the 6th volume probably is, it's a bit unsatisfying.
The most awesomeness in this volume comes from Kim Pine. I want her to be my best friend. Scott is even more of a dork than usual, Ramona seems on edge - probably for good reason (asides from Scott's being a dork), but we have to wait for the final volume to find out why!

Date: 2009-03-25 02:33 am (UTC)I was sad that we didn't get more inside Ramona's head this volume. I really liked her slowly becoming less of a cipher in the last one.
But Kim is awesome! The tequila scene, also, so awesome.
