During a brutal winter, a young woman longing for love finds more than she expected in the woods, in this wickedly sensuous short story by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, the New York Times bestselling author of Mexican Gothic.
I ended up listening to this novella on audio and it was pretty great! The story is about two sisters, Judith and Alice, and the many things that come between them. It also deals with Judith's relationship with two men during winter storms. And there's a wolf!
Content warnings for: Infidelity.
Great listen on audio! I got a little confused about the perspective in the beginning, but I very much enjoyed how Moreno-Garcia developed and explored Judith's story here.
The relationship dynamics between the sisters and the men in Judith's life were also intriguing. The was a lot of contrast between those characters and how they tugged at Judith's mind and heart. That distinction grew more and more as the plot progressed.

I am slowly working my way through Silvia Moreno-Garcia's books and they've all been worth reading. (So far I've read Gods of Jade and Shadow, Mexican Gothic, and Certain Dark Things.)
