Sorry, no more copies left to share of Meeting Faith: The Forest Journals of a Black Buddhist Nun (a PEN award-winning memoir by Faith Adiele).
I'll be sending books out this week*, and I hope all of you who get Faith's book (either through your own purchase or through the giveaway) enjoy reading it!
*I'll send them first-class in the US, but probably have to send them by (slower, yet cheaper) media mail rates internationally.

Date: 2009-03-03 06:12 am (UTC)In addition to the fascination of its content, it's an amazingly creatively designed book--the designer used typography and layout to capture the sense of a dialogue between Faith's 1980s journal entries and her reconsideration/re-envisioning of them while writing the book in the early years of the 21st century. And there are gorgeous photographs.
I can't recommend it enough. I hope your customers enjoy it!

Date: 2009-03-03 11:05 am (UTC)I am not a LJ member but I have added your community to my blogroll, and I have been reading here regularly. Our community is focused on women of color so your 50 Book Challenge is something I am enjoying immensely.
I realize I do not qualify for the book, but I would like to know if I could get a donated copy. I run a community library for girls at risk. We receive zero funding.
Because of the work we do, I am not shy about asking. I can understand a no. I will add the book to our wish list nonetheless.
Thank you,
Color Online Reader Activist
